Track 6 It Isn't the Craic

Chords and lyrics

It isn't the craic

|G          |C  G      |G          |F  C       !

|FC F C                  |G          |Em       |D           !

If you travel awhile through the emerald isle

It'll get beneath your skin

Keep your eyes full wide and you'll grow inside

As you soak the beauty in

From causeway to Killarney it'll take your breath away

From the hills of Connemara to the wild Atlantic way.

Well the weather may be sunny

Though you're sure to see some rain

You can slip inside for awhile to bide

And sing this soft refrain

|C           | G         |Em  G  |D           !

|C           | G         |FC FC   |D      7  !

Oh it's great to hear music playing in the restaurants and bars

With flute and old tin whistle, banjo and guitar

But all things considered it sure is clear to me

It isn't the craic that brings us back but the beautiful scenery

Henry was a man with a cunning plan about the monasteries brewing

So now they lie in the countryside in atmospheric ruin

Whilst on the hills above it all the megaliths look down

On castle, church and houses of some old historic town

Oh it's great to hear music playing in the restaurants and bars

With flute and old tin whistle, banjo and guitar

But all things considered it sure is clear to me

It isn't the craic that brings us back but the ancient history

I met a man who made a claim he'd worked with Tony Curtis

Hung by the knees upon trapeze at Billy Barnum's circus

A Jarvey in his jaunting car took us for a ride

Sheila has it in her blood so she took it in her stride.

Oh it's great to hear music playing in the restaurants and bars

With flute and old tin whistle, banjo and guitar

But all things considered it sure is clear to me

It isn't the craic that brings us back but the eccentricity
